# 🧾 Can I Get TELUS Bill Payment Protection if I’m Not Working?

If you’re **already unemployed or not currently working**, you **won’t be eligible** to apply for **TELUS Bill Payment Protection**.

That’s because this coverage is designed to **help protect your TELUS bill payments if your income unexpectedly stops** due to job loss, disability or critical illness **after** you’ve enrolled.

💡 **Think of it like a safety net** — it has to be set up *before* a job loss or work stoppage happens.

✅ **To qualify, you must:**

* Be **actively working** at the time of application
* Have a **minimum income** (salary, wages, or self-employment)
* Be **between 18–64 years old**
* Have an **active TELUS account** in good standing

🚫 **Not eligible if:**

* You’re **unemployed**, **retired**, **on leave**, or **receiving disability benefits** when you apply
* You **don’t have an active source of income**

🧠\*\* Why this matters\*\*

Insurance can only cover *future, unexpected* events.

If a job loss or unemployment has already occurred, it’s considered a **known event**, and coverage can’t be added after the fact.
