# Does my Standard (Group) Tenant Insurance have a start and end date?

Your Standard (Group) Tenant Insurance has a **coverage start date (effective date)**, but it does not have a predetermined end date.

Your coverage is continuous and will remain active until it is cancelled. You do not need to purchase a new plan or manually renew your coverage each month

###### Why isn't there an end date on my Certificate of Insurance or policy?

Standard (Group) Tenant Insurance is continuous coverage, so there is no scheduled end date shown on your Certificate of Insurance or policy.

If your landlord, property manager, or another organization asks for a start and end date, you can provide your coverage start date and advise them that your coverage is **continuous until cancelled**.

###### Can an end date be added to my Certificate of Insurance or policy?

No. Because Standard (Group) Tenant Insurance does not have a predetermined end date, an end date cannot be added or changed on your Certificate of Insurance or policy.

Your Certificate of Insurance and policy reflect the terms of your coverage and cannot be modified to include an end date for a specific lease period or other requested timeframe.

If you no longer need your tenant insurance, you will need to cancel your coverage. It does not automatically end when you move or no longer require insurance.

You can cancel your coverage through the customer portal associated with the partner you purchased your insurance through.
