# 🚗 Does Travel Insurance Cover Road Trips — Within Canada or to the U.S.?

Absolutely. Travel insurance covers **you**, not your mode of travel. So whether you're flying, bussing, or taking a road trip in your own car or a rental, your **TuGo Emergency Medical Insurance** applies *as long as*:

* You're **outside your home province**, and
    
* Your **policy is active**


## ⚠️ What Travel Insurance *Doesn’t* Cover:

* Damage to your vehicle (personal or rental)
    
* Roadside assistance or towing
    
* Trip delays caused by vehicle breakdown
    
* Injuries or property damage you cause to someone else (third-party liability)

For those, you’d need either **auto insurance** or a separate **rental car policy**.
