# How Long Do Benefits Last, and Can I Claim More Than Once? (Koodo Bill Payment Protection)

Here is a simple breakdown of how long each type of Koodo Bill Payment Protection benefit can pay out, and whether you can claim again after a benefit ends.

## Involuntary Unemployment (Part A)

If you lose your job through no fault of your own, benefits pay until you are back to work, up to a max of 6 monthly bill payments.

Maximum: 6 months

## Self-Employed Involuntary Unemployment (Part B)

Same benefit period as standard unemployment.

Maximum: 6 months

## Critical Illness (Part C)

If you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness, benefits pay up to 6 monthly bill payments. This benefit is paid only once under your certificate.

Maximum: 6 months

## Disability (Part D)

If you cannot work due to a covered disability, benefits pay until you return to full-time work, up to 6 monthly bill payments.

Maximum: 6 months

## Life and Dismemberment (Part E)

This benefit is not paid monthly. Instead, it is a one-time lump sum equal to the lesser of 6 times your monthly coverage limit, or your outstanding balance.

Equivalent to up to 6 months of coverage, paid all at once.

## Can I Make More Than One Claim?

It depends on the type of coverage.

Involuntary Unemployment (Part A): Yes. Once you have returned to full-time work (at least 25 hours per week) for 6 consecutive months, a new period of covered unemployment can qualify for another full benefit period. If you return to work for less than 6 months and become unemployed again, you can only claim whatever is left of your original 6-month benefit.

Disability (Part D): Yes. After your claim payments are complete, you must return to permanent full-time work (at least 25 hours per week) for 60 consecutive days before you can make another disability claim.

Critical Illness (Part C): No. This benefit is paid only once under your certificate.

Life and Dismemberment (Part E): No. This is a one-time lump-sum benefit.
