When requesting a custom tenant insurance quote, you'll be asked to select your **Architectural Type**. Not sure which one to pick? No worries β€” here's a quick guide. ###### Apartment – Low Rise Choose **Apartment – Low Rise** if you live in an apartment building that is **1 to 4 storeys** tall. These buildings are often: * Smaller apartment buildings * Walk-up apartments * Older apartment complexes * Buildings that may not have an elevator --- ###### Apartment – High Rise Choose **Apartment – High Rise** if you live in an apartment building that is **5 or more storeys** tall. These buildings are often: * Apartment towers * High-rise rental buildings * Condo buildings * Buildings that typically have one or more elevators --- ###### Basement Apartment Choose **Basement Apartment** if your rental unit is located in the basement of another home and has its own living space. Examples include: * Legal basement suites * Basement rental apartments * In-law suites rented to tenants --- ###### Detached House Choose **Detached** if you rent an entire house (or mini home) that does **not** share any walls with another home. --- ###### Semi-Detached / Duplex Choose **Semi-Detached / Duplex** if your home shares **one wall** with another home. This also includes many duplexes where each unit has its own entrance. --- ###### Townhouse Choose **Townhouse** if your home is one of several homes connected in a row. Townhouses typically: * Have their own entrance * May have multiple floors * Share side walls with neighbouring homes --- ###### Triplex Choose **Triplex** if your building contains **three separate residential units**, regardless of which unit you live in. --- ###### ❓What if I rent a mobile or manufactured home? If you rent the **entire mobile or manufactured home**, select **Detached**, as it is a standalone residence.
