# Who Needs to Be Included on My Home/Tenant Insurance Policy?

If you're getting custom insurance for your home or rental, anyone who **owns the place** needs to be on the policy. Yep — even if your partner or parent technically owns it but you're handling everything, their name still has to go on the paperwork.

💬 **Why?** Because the insurer needs to know who's got a legal stake in the property. It keeps everyone covered and avoids hiccups if you ever need to make a claim.
