How to Make a Claim - Koodo Bill Payment Protection

If you have lost your job and need to make a claim under your Koodo Bill Payment Protection plan, here is everything you need to know.

30-Day Waiting Period

Before you can receive benefits, you must be involuntarily unemployed for more than 30 consecutive days. Claims submitted before this waiting period ends will not be eligible.

What is Covered

If eligible, your coverage can help by making monthly payments toward your Koodo service while you are unemployed. To qualify, you must have been:

  • A Canadian resident over 18
  • Working full-time (25+ hours/week) at the time of job loss
  • Employed on a permanent basis
  • Covered under the policy at the time of loss
  • Registered for Employment Insurance (EI) within 15 days of losing your job
  • Actively seeking work and able to provide proof if requested

What is Not Covered

You cannot make a claim if your unemployment was due to:

  • Job loss within the first 30 days of coverage
  • Voluntary resignation
  • Being fired for cause
  • Seasonal employment ending
  • Strikes or lockouts
  • Disability (covered under a separate benefit)
  • Parental, maternity, or caregiver leave
