How to Qualify for Koodo Bill Payment Protection & Claim Qualifications
Koodo Bill Payment Protection offers financial support when you are unexpectedly out of work, but certain eligibility requirements and conditions must be met to qualify for coverage and submit a claim.
Are You Eligible?
To get coverage, all of the following need to be true:
You live in Canada
You are a Canadian resident and at least 18 years old when your coverage starts.
You have an active Koodo service
Your Koodo account needs to be current and in good standing at the time you lose your job.
You had a steady job before this
You were working 25+ hours a week in a permanent, full-time job.
You have been unemployed for 30+ days
That is the minimum waiting period before benefits kick in.
You are registered for EI
Your employer was paying EI premiums to the CRA. You applied for Employment Insurance within 15 days of becoming unemployed.
You are actively job hunting
Available to work full-time, and able to show proof that you are looking for work if asked.
No recent Critical Illness payout
You have not received a Critical Illness benefit under this policy in the past 6 months.
When You Cannot Make a Claim

- You lost your job within 30 days of coverage starting
- You knew job loss was coming when you signed up
- You were in seasonal work that ended as expected
- You are part of a strike or lockout
