🏠 Updating Your Address for KOHO Tenant Insurance

Need to update your address on your KOHO tenant insurance coverage?

There are two common situations:

  • You moved to a new address, or
  • Your address was entered incorrectly (for example, a missing unit number)

What you need to do depends on whether your coverage has already started. Once coverage is active, the address can’t be edited—but there’s still a clear path forward.

🔄 Scenario 1: You’ve Moved to a New Address

Tenant insurance coverage can only apply to one address at a time and can’t be transferred when you move.

âś… If you can plan ahead
  • Cancel your coverage before your next renewal date
  • Coverage remains active until the end of your billing period
  • Once it ends, you can take out new coverage for your new home
Coverage is tied to your email address, so new coverage can’t be started until the previous coverage fully ends.

⚠️ If your coverage is still active and you need new coverage now

If you’ve cancelled but the coverage is still active until the end of your billing period—and you need coverage for your new address:

👉 Contact KOHO directly and advise that:

  • You are moving or have moved, and
  • You need your tenant insurance coverage cancelled immediately so you can re-enroll

KOHO can cancel the coverage in a way that frees up your email address, allowing you to take out new coverage for your new address.

✏️ Scenario 2: The Address Was Entered Incorrectly

This includes things like a missing unit number, typo, or incorrect postal code.

âś… If the coverage start date is in the future

  • Cancel the coverage directly in the KOHO app
  • There is no active coverage until the effective start date
  • Take out new coverage with the correct address

⚠️ If the coverage has already started

Once coverage is active, the address can’t be changed.

👉 Contact KOHO directly and let them know:

  • The address was entered incorrectly, and
  • You need the tenant insurance coverage cancelled so you can sign up again

KOHO can cancel the coverage in a way that frees up your email address, allowing you to re-enroll with the correct address.

📌 Good to know

  • Coverage can’t apply to two addresses at the same time
  • Coverage is tied to your email address
  • Timing matters to avoid a gap in coverage
