🧾 Can I Get Bill Payment Protection if I’m Not Working?

If you’re already unemployed or not currently working, you won’t be eligible to apply for Telus Bill Payment Protection.

That’s because this coverage is designed to help protect your Telus bill payments if your income unexpectedly stops due to job loss, disability, or hospitalization after you’ve enrolled.

💡 Think of it like a safety net — it has to be set up before a job loss or work stoppage happens.

âś… To qualify, you must:

  • Be actively working at the time of application
  • Have a minimum income (salary, wages, or self-employment)
  • Be between 18–64 years old
  • Have an active Telus account in good standing

đźš« Not eligible if:

  • You’re unemployed, retired, on leave, or receiving disability benefits when you apply
  • You don’t have an active source of income

🧠 Why this matters

Insurance can only cover future, unexpected events.

If a job loss or unemployment has already occurred, it’s considered a known event, and coverage can’t be added after the fact.
