💬 Can I Get Bill Payment Protection if I’m on Disability or Workers’ Compensation?
If you’re currently on disability leave or receiving workers’ compensation benefits, you’re not eligible to apply for Telus Bill Payment Protection at this time.
That’s because this protection is meant to cover you if you become unable to work after enrollment, not for an existing disability or work-related injury.
💡 Think of it like a seatbelt — it has to be buckled before something happens.
âś… To qualify, you must:
- Be actively working when you apply
- Have a regular income from a job or self-employment
- Be between 18–64 years old
- Have an active Telus account in good standing
đźš« Not eligible if:
- You’re on short- or long-term disability
- You’re receiving EI or workers’ compensation benefits (WCB)
- You’re not medically cleared to work
🧠Why this matters
Insurance can only cover future, unexpected events.
If you’re already off work due to injury or illness, it’s considered a known condition, which means coverage can’t start until you’re back to work and earning income again.
