Pregnancy & Travel Insurance — What’s Actually Covered

Pregnant and travelling? 🍼✈️

Here’s what your travel insurance does and doesn’t cover.

✅ Covered if:

  • Pregnancy was stable for at least 7 days before you left.
  • You’re within your policy’s week limit (usually up to 31 weeks).
  • Something unexpected happens:

 • Early birth more than 9 weeks before due date

 • Sudden complications

  • If baby arrives early, you get up to $25,000 CAD for newborn emergency care.

🚫 Not Covered:

  • Regular prenatal check-ups or ultrasound
  • Planned or induced deliveries
  • Trips past your pregnancy week limit
  • Complications from an unstable pregnancy before travel
  • Care for a healthy newborn

💡 Travel tips:

  • Bring your due date letter + key medical notes
  • Make sure your dates fit your policy’s week limit
  • If pregnancy isn’t stable, reschedule — coverage won’t apply
