Telus Bill Payment Protection: Disability Coverage Explained
We often get questions from customers who are already receiving disability benefits (for example, long-term disability through their employer, or government disability benefits) and want to know if they’re still eligible to purchase the Telus Bill Payment Protection Program (BPP).
👉 What’s Covered
- If you become disabled after enrollment, the program can cover your Telus mobile phone bill during your approved period of disability.
- This applies whether your disability benefits are being paid by:Your employer (e.g., long-term disability insurance), orThe government (e.g., CPP Disability, EI Sickness, provincial disability benefits).
❌ What’s Not Covered
- If you are already on disability at the time of application, you will not be eligible to make a disability claim under the program.
- The program does not cover Telus home services (internet, TV, home phone) or devices/equipment.
⚡ Key Point: Bill Payment Protection is designed to step in if a new disability occurs after you’ve purchased coverage. Existing disabilities at the time of purchase are not eligible.
