TELUS Bill Payment Protection: Disability Coverage Explained

We often get questions from customers who are already receiving disability benefits (for example, long-term disability through their employer, or government disability benefits) and want to know if they’re still eligible to purchase the TELUS Bill Payment Protection Program (BPP).

👉 What’s Covered

  • If you become disabled after enrollment, the program can cover your TELUS mobile phone bill during your approved period of disability.
  • This applies whether your disability benefits are being paid by: your employer (e.g., long-term disability insurance) or the government (e.g., CPP Disability, EI Sickness, provincial disability benefits).

What’s Not Covered

  • If you are already on disability at the time of application, you will not be eligible to make a disability claim under the program.
  • The program does not cover TELUS home services (internet, TV, home phone) or devices/equipment.

Key Point: Bill Payment Protection is designed to step in if a new disability occurs after you’ve purchased coverage. Existing disabilities at the time of purchase are not eligible.
