Travel Insurance: Sports Coverage (Sports Package)

The Sports Package gives you extra medical coverage for injuries that happen while you’re participating in higher-risk or adventure sports — things that aren’t covered under standard emergency medical travel insurance.

Here are examples of sports typically covered under the Sports Package:

  • ❄️ Snow sports: skiing, snowboarding, heli-skiing, ski touring
  • 🧗‍♀️ Adventure activities: rock climbing, mountaineering, ice climbing
  • 🌊 Water sports: scuba diving (beyond basic limits), kitesurfing, windsurfing
  • 🚴‍♂️ Cycling & mountain biking (advanced or competition level)
  • 🪂 Air activities: paragliding, parasailing, ziplining
  • 🏄 Board sports: surfing, wakeboarding
  • 🏍️ Motorized sports: ATVing, dirt biking
  • …and many other adventure-level activities that fall outside “standard” sports.

🔎 Important: Always check the full policy wording for the complete list, limits, and exclusions. Some sports have restrictions or require proper certification (e.g., scuba).

📝 How to Get the Sports Package

The Sports Package is not automatically included with standard travel insurance and must be added separately.

Here’s how to get it:

  • Start by completing an online travel insurance quote.
  • After you’ve purchased your policy, contact TuGo directly to request the Sports Package be added.📞 TuGo Customer Care: 1-855-929-8846

Once added, your policy will include medical coverage for eligible sports and adventure activities during your trip.

⚠️ Important:

Telus, Koodo, and KOHO travel insurance policies do not automatically include the Sports Package. If you plan to participate in sports, you must request this add-on to be properly covered.
