🏢 How Can I Verify a Tenant’s Insurance Coverage?

If you're a property manager or landlord and have received a certificate of insurance from a tenant, you may want to confirm that the tenant has active coverage. Here’s what you need to know:

🔍 What to Look For on the Certificate

When a tenant has purchased coverage, they’ll be provided with a certificate of insurance. On this certificate, you’ll find:

Certificate Number

Group Policy Number

Certificateholder (Tenant’s full name and address)

Policyholder Information (Typically listed as 2678562 Ontario Inc.)

📌 Please note: The policyholder listed on the certificate is not a contact point for insurance questions. Some landlords mistakenly Google the policyholder address or name and reach unrelated departments.

đź’¬ Who to Contact

If you need to verify the coverage or have any questions, please contact Walnut Support directly at:

📧 support@walnut.com

To help us process your request quickly, be sure to include:

The first and last name of the tenant (as shown on the certificate)

A copy or image of the certificate, if available

We can only confirm if the policy is active and valid for your tenant.

đźš« What We Cannot Provide:

We cannot share additional details about the policy (such as specific coverages, premiums, or claims).

For any other questions about the policy or coverage, you must contact the certificate holder (the tenant) directly.
