🏢 How Can I Verify a Tenant’s Insurance Coverage?

If you're a property manager or landlord and have received a certificate of insurance from a tenant, you may want to confirm that the tenant has active coverage. Here’s what you need to know:

🔍 What to Look For on the Certificate

When a tenant has purchased coverage, they’ll be provided with a certificate of insurance. On this certificate, you’ll find:

  • Certificate Number

  • Group Policy Number

  • Certificateholder (Tenant’s full name and address)

  • Policyholder Information (Typically listed as 2678562 Ontario Inc.)

📌 Please note: The policyholder listed on the certificate is not a contact point for insurance questions. Some landlords mistakenly Google the policyholder address or name and reach unrelated departments.

  • A copy or image of the certificate, if available

We can only confirm if the policy is active and valid for your tenant.

đźš« What We Cannot Provide:

  • We cannot share additional details about the policy (such as specific coverages, premiums, or claims).

  • For any other questions about the policy or coverage, you must contact the certificate holder (the tenant) directly.
