📍 I Can’t Find My Address When Taking Out Standard Tenant Coverage

If you’re trying to take out standard tenant insurance and your address isn’t showing up, here’s what’s happening — and what you can do next.

🧭 Why It Happens

The standard tenant coverage form uses Canada Post’s postal code lookup to validate your address.
If your address isn’t listed with Canada Post, the system won’t be able to recognize or verify it.

🛠 What You Can Do:

✅ Option 1: Contact Canada Post

Your property manager or landlord should reach out to Canada Post and request that the address be added to their database.
Once that’s done, the address will become available for validation, and you’ll be able to proceed with standard tenant coverage.

🧾 Option 2: Take Out a Custom Insurance Quote

If you need coverage right away, you can choose a custom tenant insurance quote instead. During the quote process:

Select “I cannot find my address. Let me type it in.”

This allows you to manually input your address and get a policy tailored to your location.
