Are My Belongings Covered in a Storage Unit or Offsite Location?

Yes — but only in limited situations.


Under the Limited Personal Property Coverage Endorsement, your policy offers up to $1,000 in coverage for personal property stored away from your insured location (like a storage unit or offsite facility).

✅ What’s Covered


Up to $1,000 in coverage for personal items stored offsite
✔ The loss must be caused by a covered peril — for example:


  • Fire 🔥
  • Theft 🚪
  • Vandalism 🧱



🚫 What’s Not Covered


Flood, mold, or other excluded risks
Business use — items used for business or commercial purposes
Unsecured storage — storage units must be properly secured to qualify
