Can I add extra coverage or endorsements to my Group Tenant Insurance?
Short answer: No.
Standard (Group) Tenant Insurance provides a standard set of coverages for all members of the group.
This means you can't add optional endorsements, increase coverage limits, or insure individual items separately under your existing Group Tenant Insurance plan.
What can't be added?
Your plan already includes the coverages and limits that were selected for your group program. While many personal belongings are covered under your Personal Property coverage (subject to your policy's terms, conditions, and limits), you can't purchase additional protection for specific items or add optional coverages to your existing plan.
Optional endorsements
- Sewer backup coverage
- Sump pump backup coverage
- Overland flood coverage
- Earthquake coverage
- Any other optional insurance endorsement
Higher coverage limits
Group Tenant Insurance is offered with pre-defined coverage options. The maximum limits available are determined by your group program and can't be increased beyond the options offered.

- E-bikes that are used primarily as a land conveyance

If an item is covered under your policy, it will be covered according to your policy's terms, exclusions, and applicable limits. Additional insurance for individual items isn't available through Group Tenant Insurance.
Before you purchase: If you're looking to insure items such as jewelry, furs, collectibles, coins, or other property that may be subject to special limits, we recommend reviewing your plan's coverage details before purchasing. These types of property may have specific coverage limits under the policy. If those limits don't meet your needs, you'll need to purchase a custom tenant insurance policy that offers higher limits or scheduled coverage.
What if I need additional coverage?
If you need higher limits, optional endorsements, or specialized coverage that's not available through your Group Tenant Insurance plan, you'll need a custom tenant insurance policy.
Our licensed insurance advisors can help you explore custom tenant insurance options if your insurance needs go beyond what's included in the group plan.
