πŸ’ Cash, Jewelry, Collectibles & Other Special Limits

Your tenant insurance includes coverage for personal belongings, but some categories of property have special limits.

A special limit is the maximum amount payable for all items in a category combined during a single covered loss, even if your overall contents coverage limit is higher.

For example, if you have $15,000 in contents coverage, the special limit for stolen jewelry is still $1,000.

πŸ’΅ Cash & Money

Coverage is limited to:

  • Cash
  • Bank notes
  • Coins
  • Bullion
  • Gold (other than goldware)
  • Silver (other than silverware)
  • Platinum
  • Medals

Maximum coverage: $200 per covered loss

Example: If $500 in cash and collectible coins are stolen during a break-in, the most payable under this category would be $200 total, not $200 for each item minus the $500 deductible.

πŸ’ Jewelry, Watches & Furs

Coverage is limited to:

  • Jewelry
  • Watches
  • Furs
  • Precious and semi-precious stones

Maximum coverage: $1,000 total per covered theft loss

Example: If three rings, a watch, and a necklace are stolen and their combined value is $4,000, the most payable under this category would be $1,000 total minus the $500 deductible.

πŸ”« Firearms

Coverage is limited to:

  • Firearms
  • Related equipment and accessories

Maximum coverage: $2,000 total per covered theft loss

If multiple firearms are stolen during the same incident, the most payable under this category is $2,000 total minus the $500 deductible.

πŸ₯„ Silverware & Goldware

Coverage is limited to:

  • Silverware
  • Silver-plated ware
  • Goldware
  • Gold-plated ware
  • Pewterware
  • Tea sets
  • Trays
  • Trophies

Maximum coverage: $2,500 total per covered theft loss (Minus the $500 deductible)

πŸ“± Electronics Stolen From a Vehicle

Certain electronic devices designed to operate from a vehicle's electrical system are covered up to $1,000 per covered loss while in or on a vehicle.

This limit also applies to related accessories and media.

🌎 Property Away From Home

Personal property is primarily covered while at the insured location.

If covered property is away from the insured location when a covered loss occurs, coverage is limited to $1,000 total per covered loss (minus the $500 deductible), subject to the policy terms and conditions.

🚫 Items Not Covered

The policy does not provide coverage for certain types of property, including:

  • Animals, birds, or fish
  • Motor vehicles
  • Aircraft
  • Watercraft
  • Credit cards
  • Business records and data
  • Passports
  • Property belonging to tenants, boarders, or roommates who are not insured under the policy
